The spirit of Christmas

December 2013

We were lucky enough to be awarded commended in the chamber of commerce ‘Spirit of Christmas’ competition for our window display. Our homemade driftwood Christmas tree received many compliments. It did make one think about the true meaning of the spirit of Christmas…

As is traditional in Down to Earth, Christmas baking ingredients were being weighed out daily, as were herbs and spices (mulled cider seemed to be the drink of the season).  Hence as ever the shop smelt gorgeous and many recipes and family traditions were shared. Baking and aromashold memories and traditions for people and are what bring Christmas to life. Perhaps that is the spirit of Christmas.

Faith in Nature soaps were top stocking fillers along with the ever popular Seed and Bean chocolate  bars.
Our International Food Hampers made great
gifts, especially the Indian collection. They will be making a return next year. If you are stuck for a gift idea and you have a foodie to please, hampers can be made up at any time of the year. Just come on in and ask and we will be happy to help.
